What my team would like to see after running a Build job is more than just the Test Result Trend graph. Is there a way to have the most recent Average Transaction Response Times graph and/or the Hits per Second graph displayed by default?

We have Jenkins ver 2.150.1 running on Windows with LoadRunner 12.61.

It seems like we are looking for someone with more than an "out of the box" experience using the LoadRunner Jenkins plugin. How can we find out how to do what we would like? Here are the options that I see possible:

1) Ask for help via a MicroFocus LoadRunner Service Request.
2) Continue Googling for any signs of hope on the Internet.
3) Pose our request in this MicroFocus Google Group.
4) Post a request somewhere on a MicroFocus Blog.
5) Request features via the Jira connection to the MicroFocus Jenkins page.
6) Figure out how to run some post-job code to generate the desired graphs.
7) Figure out how to modify the LoadRunner plugin.
A couple of years ago I got connected with two R&D Engineers that were directly responsible for the HP Plugin. That would be a very cool option, but I do not think I will get that lucky this time.

 Thanks for any advice,

Randy Stevenson

Hey Randy,

I am the current owner of the plugin.
I'll try that the LoadRunner developer of the plugin will contact you as soon as possible.

What version of the plugin are you using? it is possible that it was implemented in the newer version of the plugin.

Hello Randy,

I am the current LoadRunner developer on the jenkins plugin. Currently, the Average Transaction Response Times graph and the Hits per Second graphs can only be viewed by choosing a Job -> Performance Report and selecting which graph you want to view. Furthermore by applying an analysis template to the build, you can add or remove graphs from the Performance Report. These features are available since plugin version 5.5 Please create a Jira ticket, add "hp-application-automation-tools-plugin" to the component/s and LoadRunner to the label if you want to change the current implementation.

Regards,
Rolando

Hi Rolando and Daniel -

Thanks, both of you, for your responses to my LoadRunner plugin Jira issues/requests.

First of all, I do have a Jira Jenkins Improvement request to include the Average Transaction Response time graph as a default: JENKINS-55300

Secondly, I am finding that several parts of the plugin are not really working correctly. Note: This may be because I am such a "non-technical" Jenkins user and do not have things completely set up correctly.

Example: When I click on Performance Report, I do get the Analysis Report Summary Page, but none of the links on the left side menu work, so I cannot drill down to see the Average Transaction Response Time graph.

Example 2: When I click on a Rich Report in a LoadRunner Test Run, all I get is a blank page. (JENKINS-55302)

Example 3: When I click on a Transaction Summary Report, all I get is a blank page. (JENKINS-55301)

I will keep experimenting.

Randy

Hello Randy,
For 55301 and 55302 please unset the CSP Header (https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Configuring+Content+Security+Policy). Our graphs contain javascript and due to security policy in Jenkins, the graphs appear as blank: Manage Jenkins -> Script Console -> System.setProperty("hudson.model.DirectoryBrowserSupport.CSP", "") and force a cache refresh on the graphs page (ctrl + F5).
