Greetings EFCS Partners & Affiliates!

Below and attached is information regarding the following for sharing and/or posting:

  • Elms Family and Community Services Tutoring: FREE Tutoring slots are still available to our low-income high school students in Macomb and Wayne County!  Space is limited so please encourage students who need assistance in Math & Science to sign-up.   Virtual sessions will begin on Tuesday, 3/11.  

  • EFCS Volunteer Opportunities:  For current individual and group volunteer opportunities please click HERE or links in the shared flyer. There are great volunteer opportunities available for youth to earn High School volunteer hours as well as develop skills that can be used in future careers.

  • MSU Exploration Days Session Information:  Registration opens March 20th at 7:00 pm and closes April 25. Don’t wait until the deadline though, because popular sessions fill up fast! 

  • Spring College Application Week (3/10-3/14): Schools with NO application fees. 

  • Spring Fee Waiver & Codes: Fee Waiver codes for schools with no application fees.

  • Mount Clemens Public Library Spring Open House: The Spring Open House is scheduled from 11 AM - 1 PM.   
    • An exciting African Drums performance
    • A lively children’s playgroup
    • Creative craft activities
    • Delicious food and refreshments
    • A special giveaway you won’t want to miss!
  • Wayne Health Mobile Unit: The Wayne Health Mobile Unit will be present at the Mount Clemens Public Library Spring Open House from 11 AM - 2 PM for its services.  Below are FREE services that will be available. 
         WHMU SERVICES:
    • Blood Pressure Screening
    • General Health Screenings: Diabetes, Cholesterol, Kidney Function
    • 2024-2025 Standard Influenza Vaccine (5+) *Subject to availability.  We bill health insurance for vaccines.  There is no cost to an individual who does not have insurance coverage.
    • COVID-19 PCR testing (3+ years old) for symptomatic individuals *we do not offer routine screening
    • Appointments not required
    • Parental/Guardian authorization is required for any individuals under the age of 18 for all services outside of the HIV Screening (13 year and up). ​
    •  Other Services that may be available:

    • HIV testing (13+ years old, results within 20 minutes)
    • Linkage to care and community resources
