COVID-19 Vaccine Answers

Disability Network Oakland & Macomb (DNOM) hosted a Tele-Town Hall question and answer event with Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel and Dr. Gwen Graddy. DNOM wants to educate consumers with disabilities and caregivers on the latest COVID-19 vaccinations and recently updated eligibility effective March 22, 2021!

We provide up to date information and referrals on topics such as advocacy, accessibility, housing, transportation, high school transition, community transition services, and veteran services. We refer individuals to community resources or organizations that are appropriate services that will meet the needs of our consumers.

Assistive Technology
The Assistive Technology Program at Disability Network Oakland & Macomb offers a myriad of equipment, demonstration, and training opportunities. We provide in-depth evaluations designed to assess a person’s capacity for independent living with assistive devices.

Our AT Classroom contains numerous low and high tech items that facilitate communication, activities of daily living, computer access, mobility assistance, environmental controls, and more. Please contact Jenell Williams at (586) 268-4160 x6614 with questions or to set up a demonstration! 
LGBTQ+
The LGBTQ+ Program is a safe place for those who live with labels like LGBTQ+ and disabilities. Topics like the use of labels, building support circles, intersectionality, transitioning, and other diverse topics will be discussed through a lens of LGBTQ+.

Pandemic Support Group
Our online Real Talk group centers on issues of the day: pandemic fatigue, isolation, COVID brain, antiracism, re-engagement in the world post-pandemic, new "normals," etc. Using Zoom to create a safe space for individuals with disabilities, we give each other and take the space needed to process our responses. We would love for you to be part of our community.

Registration is now available for our May 2021 session

This 4 week Oh Y.E.A. virtual course offers the basic fundamentals of starting a business or enhancing and existing one. Workshop teaches youth between the ages of 16 – 24 the skills need to succeed as confident entrepreneurs.
