Hello everyone!

I wanted to take a minute to explain who Macomb Inter Agency Council is. We are looking for new members so that we can all enrich our personal growth and allow opportunities for communication within Human Service fields of Macomb County. The purpose of the MIAC is to serve as a forum to discuss problems, concerns, and programs of mutual inter-agency interest in the County. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month, 11:30AM - 1:00PM, from September to June. We have speakers from many different agencies speak to the group and we also provide lunch. Time is provided at each meeting for discussion and announcements. MIAC works to inform members of important social issues to implement actions on such issues when deemed necessary.

We have a small membership fee of $40 which covers your meals for the year. You are able to come to one meeting for free to see if you would like to commit to the year!

Feel free to email me with any questions. I look forward to meeting those who are interested *:) happy

Morning Courtney!

This sounds like a great council to connect up resources in Macomb county. I'll talk to my agency about this council, because we are always wanting to stay on top of what is available in our service area (Oakland and Macomb counties).

Also, I present to lots of community organizations and law enforcement about elder abuse in our area. I touch on the intersections of abuse and LGBT elders, as well as abuse and individuals who have a disability. As part of another grant, I also go out into the community to talk about the more general resources my agency offers. If either of these sound like something MIAC could use, please contact me to set something up.

Thanks and good luck!
