As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and connecting people to housing resources, Community Housing Network (CHN) is pleased to share our monthly update on available Housing Counseling services, upcoming workshops, and homebuyer education opportunities.

 

CHN is a HUD- and MSHDA-approved Housing Counseling Agency, providing support to individuals and families throughout Southeast Michigan. Our services are designed to empower community members with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed housing decisions.

 

Available Services This Month

 

🏡 Homebuyer Education Webinars

Held twice per month on Thursdays or Saturdays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., these sessions provide education on:

• Credit & savings
• Tax incentives
• Fair housing rights
• Closing & title work
• Down payment assistance resources

💻 Online Homebuyer Education Option

A self-paced alternative available through eHome America.

📘 Financial Capability Coaching
Helping participants build financial stability through understanding credit, consumer protection, predatory lending prevention, budgeting, and more.

 

🏘️ Renter Education
Monthly workshops available in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties, covering:

• Landlord‑tenant law
• Affordability planning
• Conflict management
• Fair housing protections

 

🤝 One‑on‑One Pre-Purchase Counseling
Free, confidential sessions for Oakland and Macomb residents.
Counselors review credit, analyze finances, discuss mortgage options, and create action plans.
