Bart Bragg took over the studio in 2002 after a long business relationship with his friend and partner. Toward the end of his life, Cricchio joined a coffee klatch that included six area men from a variety of professions ranging from oil refinery workers to small business owners. For three years before the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020 they met at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur almost daily for breakfast and lively conversations that covered a range of topics. Cricchio regaled the informal group with his philosophy concerning his craft, and he described tales of travel, his views on ancient Roman and Greek history, and his overall worldview. He emphasized attention to detail as crucial for a perfect photograph, and he emphasized that the process applied to all human endeavors.

The UNCED Earth Summit established two new principles of international justice: an equitable international order and protection of the environment. UNCED was a significant symbol, a morality play about environment and economics. Wealth is asymmetrically distributed; approximately one-fifth of the world (the G-7 nations) produces and consumes four-fifths of goods and services; four-fifths (the G-77 nations) get one-fifth. This distribution can be interpreted as both an earnings differential and as exploitation. Responses may require justice or charity, producing and sharing. Natural and national resources come into tension with the common heritage of humankind, exemplified in disputes about who owns biodiversity resources. Ethics has to learn planetary home economics.
"Today's World Refugee Day Resolution is a bold call to action that acknowledges the real challenges facing the U.S. refugee and asylum systems, as well as the even greater opportunities for the U.S. to lead in the welcome and protection of displaced people from around the world," said Becca Heller, Executive Director of the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP). "IRAP is grateful for the leadership of Senator Menendez, Representative Lieu, and the other members of Congress who have come together to affirm a vision to rebuild a just immigration system that welcomes and protects refugees and other displaced people. Accessible and effective pathways to safety should be the norm, not the exception, for everyone, regardless of nationality or creed."
