CGAP  Training Course – 20-22 July 2009

AusAID and CGAP  have agreed to host a 3-day Microfinance Training Course in Canberra in  from 20-22 July 2009.  The course will be targeted towards AusAID  staff and organisations actively involved in microfinance in the Pacific  region (including East Timor and PNG) and will specifically focus on  operationalisation of CGAP’s Good Practice Guidelines for Funders of  Microfinance.

The training will provide  participants with a solid grounding in microfinance principles and the tools  to make sound financing decisions. It will also examine social performance  monitoring and how to manage microfinance components within integrated  development projects.

Places at the training have  been reserved for nominees from not for profit organisations with microfinance  focused programs. AusAID is prepared to cover travel expenses and per diems  for successful applicants. Places will be awarded on a competitive  basis.  Expressions of interests should be limited to one page and should  outline the candidate’s knowledge and experience in microfinance and  indicate how the training would be relevant to the applicant’s current  position. EOIs should be emailed to philippa...@ausaid.gov.au  by Monday 11 May 2009
