We recommend that you only use Nova 7 backups on Nova 7 and Nova 8 backups on Nova 8. This is due to the fact that there are some pretty big changes between Nova 7 and Nova 8 and this helps prevent any serious issues with your setup by not mixing backups from the two versions.
Yes. The Google Discover page found in Pixel Launcher can easily be recreated in Nova Launcher with our companion tool. This requires a separate installation via sideloading, as the app isn't available in the Google Play Store.
Before installing the Nova Google Companion App, you'll need to be running Android 5.0 or above, as well as Nova Launcher 5.3 or above. The Infinite Scroll feature found in Nova Settings -> Home screen -> Scroll must also be disabled.
Yes. Drag one icon on top of another to create a folder on the home screen. Alternatively, you can drag folders directly out of the app drawer. You might need to ensure you have the Nova Settings -> Home Screen -> Advanced -> Overlap When Placing disabled.
Disable the shortcut for Nova in your phone's accessibility settings. Make sure you don't disable the accessibility service itself though or else things like locking the screen and notification badges likely won't work.
Nova Settings -> Style(icon at the bottom right) -> Home Screen -> Text. Within this section, there are numerous different options that you can change to get various colors of labels that you might want or need.
This isn't up to Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, but up to the system. If your system does not allow you to enable gesture navigation when using a 3rd party launcher, unfortunately there is nothing Nova Launcher can do about that. Most Android 11 or newer devices do allow using gesture navigation with 3rd party launchers, however sometimes there are bugs or behavior differences between gesture navigation when using their launcher versus another one. Unfortunately this is not something Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, can change, it is dependent on the system, Google and your device manufacturer.
First, long-press on the home screen and then swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access "Widgets." Then Nova Actions -> App Drawer. This will add an app drawer button to the home screen which you can then place in the dock.
Keep in mind, however, that this is meant to be an organizational tool and not a way to globally hide apps. Any hidden apps will still show up on the home screen and in search. If you want to completely hide an app, you'll need to use a third-party tool as this isn't something Nova Launcher can do.
Nova Settings -> Style(icon at the bottom right) -> App Drawer -> Text. Within this section, there are numerous different options that you can change to get various colors of labels that you might want or need.
Yes. We'll need your receipt for the original Nova Prime purchase, as well as the exact email for the new account. You should be able to find your original Nova Prime receipt in Google Pay if you have it set up.
Once you've found the original receipt, use Nova Settings -> Contact Support to send a copy of the receipt or the GPA ID# of the purchase and the new account email address. From there, we'll help transfer your Prime account over.
Before we can provide a refund, we'll need the receipt from your Prime purchase or the GPA ID# of the purchase that is found on the receipt Google emailed you when you purchased the app, or you can oftentimes find this info in Google Pay -> Activity. It's worth noting that we're unable to provide a refund if you purchased Nova Prime more than 30 days ago.
With the proper info in hand, please use Nova Settings -> Contact Support or send an email directly to contact Nova Support with the subject "I'd like to request a refund." Attach your proof of purchase along with the refund request. Once we've processed the refund, the Nova Prime license will be invalidated.
We offer the ability to have a direct license which allows you to use Nova Prime without having to install the Nova Prime APK. This does still require you to purchase Nova Prime from the Google Play Store. You can use Nova Settings -> Contact Support and send us an email and either attach a copy of the Google Play Store receipt you got when you purchased Nova Prime or the GPA ID# of the purchase as well as the email address in which you used to make the purchase with. If you don't have either of those, you can always contact the Google Play Store support and they can often provide that information for you. Please do not attach other images such as screenshots of the purchase history from the Google Play Store or a screenshot of Nova Settings showing Nova Launcher Prime as those will not be accepted as proof of purchase.
If your device supports turning the display off by double tapping, you can double tap the notification bar at the top of the screen to execute this feature. Alternatively, can you set a custom gesture to do the same thing in Nova Settings -> Gestures & inputs. Please Note: Double tapping of the notification bar isn't supported by most device OEM's and is more of a custom ROM feature.
First, enable Developer Mode on your phone, then enable USB debugging and Bug Report Shortcut. If you're not sure how to do that, head here for full instructions (Note: the process may vary slightly depending on which version of Android you're phone is running). With that set up, hold the power button and select "Take a Bug Report" the next time your phone crashes.
You certainly can! To become a beta tester just opt-in to the beta channel. Please note, there are times that Nova beta versions will be available, but they won't be in the Play Store. If you wish to stay updated on releases prior to the Play Store, we recommend you join our official Discord server here: Nova Launcher Discord
Nova, nor and other 3rd party launcher, has any access to the recent apps screen in any way. That's all up to your device OEM and Android and the recent apps screen is tied to the stock launcher of your device. You will experience these issues in all 3rd party launchers, not your stock launcher and not just specifically Nova. You will need to contact your device OEM directly with any issues regarding the recent apps screen.
You can get in touch through Nova Settings -> Contact Support or sending an email directly to(sup...@novalauncher.com). We ask that you only use the direct email method if you can't get into Nova Settings itself to use the Contact Support method. If you're having a specific issue, using the Contact support button in the app will provide us with detailed information that will help.
So I've been trying for DAYS already to log into the launcher after getting a "Hardware activation required" error, and the e-mail with the 2FA code just never arrives. What exactly is the issue here?
(Yes, I've checked my junk / spam folders, the e-mail just isn't arriving).
I had the same issue and worked with EFT support and my ISP support. Eventually they offered to change the email address the game was sending the notifications to my gmail account and I got the notification first try. From what I can gather the email WAS being sent but was being blocked somewhere along the route, but not at my ISPs antispam filter. I'm guessing more than likely it got caught in some blanket drop rule because its coming from russia and so does a LOT of spam.
Someone posted a possible fix: Change password on website with launcher closed, then open the launcher and retry logging in with the new password and see if the code gets sent. I read you may need to keep the launcher open at the screen it asks for the code for around 10-15 minutes for the email to be sent. If one of you guys can verify that this works it would be a great help to me because I have to reformat soon and I don't want to be locked out myself. Regards.
1. I have a solution to this problem. Right click BSG Launcher, and click "Properties." Then click the compatibility tab. Check the box that says "Compatibility mode for Windows 8" then click run the program in compatibility mode. Run under recommended settings. Type in your information, then click Authorize. You should receive the email.
hello everyone, basically it seems they have issues with some servers. I sniffed the traffic and when launcher calls 104.22.28.180 (and I would guess some others) no email is sent, but then it called 172.67.41.203 and I received the email. So the "solution" is - keep doing it until you get the email. Basically open your email client, authorize in launcher (so it shows that email was sent), wait 10s, refresh email, if there's nothing, click back and authorize again. Eventually launcher will hit a server which is capable of sending the email.
The client simply isn't sending the trigger. I have tested numerous other account retrieval methods, such as changing password, purchase verification, etc. They ALL send me emails, but the authorization to play simply is never sent.
When running composer update, you will be prompted to provide a username and password. You should use your Nova website email for the username and a license key should be used as the password. These credentials will authenticate your Composer session as having permission to download the Nova source code.
