Shanah Tovah and Shabbat Shalom to each of you!! With this note I am sending love and hugs all around.
I want you to know that I plan to be in Israel from Oct 21-Nov 3. The most important day of that visit is Thursday, Oct 23. Shoshana and I will be participating with the Women of the Wall at the Kotel for the Rosh Chodesh Shacharit Service at 7:00am and then driving to the cemetery at Kibbutz Ma'ale HaHamisha in order to carry out a very simple but meaningful unveiling ceremony at approximately 9:30am at Stan's gravestone. If you are in Israel on that morning and are interested in joining us at the Kotel and/or the cemetery visit, we would welcome you with open arms. Please let me know your plans.
Shoshana will be in Israel for almost a month, participating (occasionally!) with me at the World Union for Progressive Judaism gathering at Beit Shmuel from Oct. 22-25. Then she will be very busy with the World Zionist Congress and more meetings after that. Hopefully, she will have time to visit with family and friends but that cannot be figured out until she gets to Israel!
I will be staying at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem. I don't have a detailed schedule for the conference, but it looks like there will be some blocks of free time here and there. I arrive at Ben Gurion on Oct 21 at 1:55pm and would love to have dinner with someone. The conference registration begins on Thursday, Oct 22 at 1:30pm and I am open for brunch or early lunch on that day. Friday is busy all day. Saturday morning is busy, but the conference is joining the Jerusalem hostage protest and Havdalah, scheduled to end at 7:30pm. (To be honest, I believe fully in the cause, but I could be talked out of joining a protest. Please don't tell Shoshana!) I have no plans on Oct 26,27 or 28. I'd love to see YOU!
I leave for Kibbutz Sde Yoav on Wed, Oct 29 to be with family until Sunday, Nov 2 when I leave for Tel Aviv. I will then be staying at the Herbert Samuel Opera Hotel until I fly back to the States early in the morning on Nov 5. I again have no plans in Tel Aviv except to see friends and family in that area. I'd love to see YOU!
Please let me know when you might be available to get together. I'd love to enjoy conversation and time with you.
