Dear Track Fans,

 

The attachments are the results of the Champion of Champions Meet held may 30th ,1964 at the WMU track.

I've gleaned some interesting info. ; 1. MITCA Pres. Rob Johnson, coached at Clare HS., as a junior, from Vasser, won the SP., 2. MITCA Pres. Rich Thompkins, coached at Fremont HS, took 4th place in the 440., 3. MITCA member Dale Sage, AD. and coached at Reese HS., as a junior took 2nd place in the 880. 4. MITCA member Pat Wison, coached at St.Clair Lakeview and Grosse Pointe,as a junior took 3rd place in 880., 5. Former MITCA member Earl Hook, coached at Wat.Kettering, took 4th place in the HJ., 6. Rene Harger as a junior took 5th in the 880 was the first UP athlete to break 2:00.0., 7. Jerry Ruell from Lake City, Class D, took 5th in the 180 LH was coached by Pete Woods, MITCA member and AAE sports equip. sales rep., 8. Roseville won both relays, I believe their secret weapon was junior Bill Werhwein, a former MITCA member., 9. Class B and Class C athletes represented themselves well in this meet.
