When you are looking for a gaming group, we ask that you please follow the following template to make it easier to look through and read.
(1.) In your title of your post (the subject line), please state:
Who you are (Player/Game Master/etc.)
What kind of people you are looking for (Other Players/A Game Master/A Group)
What kind of game you are looking for
Example of a Title: "Player looking for a Dungeon Master or group to play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition" Another Example: "Game Master looking for 2 more players to play Shadowrun 4th Edition"
(2.) In the description of your post, please further outline the following details:
What times and locations do you meet/do you want to meet? (EX: Friday Nights at North Quad, Sunday Afternoons at [someone's house], etc)
What kind of campaign are you running/looking to play in? Please rate on the following scales
Casual/Serious:How comedic and casual are you vs. Do you want people to take the story seriously
Rules Heavy/Rules Light:Do you like playing with lots of attention to rules, numbers, and mechanics vs. Do you just want to play and make things up as you go?
Combat/Social: Do you play with lots of combat encounters, maybe even with a grid and miniatures/tokens vs. Do you mostly prefer to have lots of social roleplay
Linear Story/Open World Adventure:Do you like planned out stories and encounters vs. Do you like to have a game where the players get to just go around and do whatever it is they want
Obviously these aren't always mutually exclusive, and you can very well have a game that has both lots of combat and social-roleplay, but these are just some general guidelines we hope can help people find a group that best suits them. An example of the above would be:
"I'm a somewhat experienced GM that has run a few games of Shadowrun 4th Edition in the past, and would like to find a group to try out 5th Edition. So far our group already has two players, but we are looking for two more.
We are looking to play on either Friday or Saturday nights starting around 8 PM, and are willing to play anywhere that's nearby on Central Campus (most of us live by North Quad so are looking to play in those classrooms, but we can adjust to new players).
We are looking to run a mostly casual campaign. We aren't looking to be super silly, but we also aren't looking to be super serious either. As a Game Master I prefer to keep things rules light so not to confuse new players as I have mostly played with new people. I also prefer to have an even mix of combat and social-roleplay. In terms of story, I tend to follow pre-written quests and modules, but I also like to edit them into my own stories, so there is still quite a bit of room for improvisation and not everything will be on rails.
