Sad News About Nigel Began

It is with a heavy heart that I pass on this news regarding a luminary and significant contributor to our profession. 

Nigel Bevan has passed away. 

I received this news from a colleague who knew Nigel well. If you knew him, then you know how kind and intelligent and approachable of a person he was. 

Rather than continuing, I will simply include a message that Nigel's son sent out to those he knew:

I am afraid I have some horrible news - my dad died on Tuesday after a hiking accident in Malaysia. We have had some comfort from knowing that he died doing what he loved - taking on a challenge in a beautiful place.
