1. Indigenous Media Makers of Today: To show the current film works I have completed, which are on the history and current perspectives on the Indian Health Center in Detroit, the Jiingtamak (powwow) and the dream seekers youth group to discuss the crucial role as indigenous media makers of today and how it is important to have an amplified voice within our communities, represent our own identities and produce media independently.
2. The RAIZ up: Southwest Detroit indigenous residents/artists/educators using Hip Hop as a tool to create social awareness in our community through community dialog, artistic creation and collective action. One significant factor we incorporate is the circle, known as the Cypher, we send and receive information, not only to artistically express ourselves but to critically think on ideas and move forward with solutions and critiques towards issues important on a community level as well as a humanity level.
We would love to provide an architectural structure that can be customized and replicated within any community across indian country.
We would have a cypher panel and share our story up until this point and where we will continue to build and encourage others to use this method of The RAIZ up.
Is there a way to excuse the deadline?
