I'm Building a Laguna

Hi All,

I've been lurking on the form, but this is the first time I've
posted. My name is Chad, I'm in MN, and I'm building a Laguna.
I started a few weeks ago, and have the goal of getting the hull
completed enough that I can store it outside for the winter. Build
sail rig over winter and complete in the Spring. (But I think my days
of beautiful autumn weather are quickly coming to an en up here. I'm
going to have to pull out the heaters for the epoxy.) :-)

I have the bulkheads finished, and just glued the side panels together
last night. (Ed I did it as prescribed by Jim. 2 layers of glass
tape on each side. I did both side at the same time, and sandwiched
it with plastic and ply and clamped it together with screws. I can
try to get some pics if you like.) Then my friend is coming over
tonight to tack the whole thing together. [Very excited to see it
come together.] Lord willing I'll get the bottom on in the next
couple weeks. (What number are we on? Siete or Ocho?)

I love your group. A lot of knowledge here; in this relatively small
group. But I live for the sailing stories. (Keep 'em coming Gordo.
Chuck, I'm still waiting for pics of the L. Mead trip.)

BTW – Just read Jackie's thread on UltraPly on the PDRacer group. I
would have loved to have found some quality ply here in the big box
but I couldn't, so my wife talked me into going with Marine Maranti.
I got it from Noah's. Their price is pretty good but I got killed on
the shipping. :-)

Welcome aboard, Chip. Andrew Tatton is the official hull number keeper but I
think it will be Laguna Siete. (isn't that poetic sounding?) Hopefully
Andrew will let us know for sure.
