Outboards: I have a Honda 2 horse on mine. I tried a 5 horse but it did not
make much difference.

Yes, but I think you have to apply to get a hull number. Andrew is the keeper of numbers so he will have to decide. Anyway, nothing wrong with Laguna Ocho.

First off, the name is Chad; ChipWhip is just my email address. :-)
I live in Minnesota, the Minneapolis area. Land of ice, snow, and ten
thousand lakes.
And yes, I have a completed Laguna hull. I'm vying for hull number
siete, but I could live with ocho. How do I get this hull number? Do
I need to email Andy? You can see my boat on the blog here:

--- --- Motors ---
Currently (last season), I sailed a Dovekie. It has a side motor
board, and I hung a 3.5 GameFisher there. That was more than enough
power for that 21ft 600 lb boat. I'd usually run it below half, if
you cranked it up you would get to hull speed and plow a huge wake.
Only issue was that it was a short shaft and when dealing with the
chop of wakes, it would bob in and out of the water. Short story
2-3hp is plenty for these boats. I plan to move this motor to the L7.
Just have to decide if I'm going to cut a motor well, or use a
lifting bracket I have. (Any advice?)
