Chuck can you tell us if there has been a spike in sales of Laguna
plans? I'd like to think all that effort we went through did some
good. You don't have to give numbers, just a % of either interest or
sales.

I almost hate to say this but we sold 11 sets of Laguna plans in the year
before the latest Texas200 and one set since. I'm blaming you for tarnishing
the Laguna image. Everyone thinks you burned your boat because it was a dog.

By the way, did you see Jim Michalak's write-up? http://jimsboats.com/#2010

SSSSSShhhhhh
Let's keep the Laguna secrete.
I have never been more pleased with a boat in my life.
It has more of the things I like and less of the stuff I don't like.
Big enough without being too big.
Easy to tow and launch.
It is the biggest little boat around.
No boat that size is easier and simpler to sail.
No boat that size is easier and simpler to build.
A very capable boat.
It is a keeper.
I am finishing mine as we speak. I seldom ever finish a boat past one primer coat....and the fittings attached with drywall screws. ha ha  I now have three coats of varnish on the brightwork....forgot what it looks like.

I just built a little minimal cart that will KD and fit in either compartment.  It has four pneumatic wheels ($5 when on sale at Tractor Supply). I think it will roll easily on soft sand with 6# of pressure in the tires.  It took me weeks to design, but only took a couple of hours to build.  .The bare minim material and size but fully functional.  I can assemble and put the boat on it in two minutes.  Just two 1/4" wing nuts.

Well . . . Huh? I suppose if anyone has to be blamed, it's me. Geez,
I can't believe that.

I did see Jim's write-up. I eagerly wait for more.
And St. John is right about all that is good in Lagunas, he just
forgot to mention "Faster than anyone expected."

Damn. I'm just . . appalled, really.

Quit beating around the bush, John and tell us what you really think!

Do I see an EC in your future?

I'm just apologizing 'cause I somehow inadvertantly hit the "report as
spam" button at the top of the page. Didn't mean anything by it, just
a mistake.

Well, the average was one set every 33 days last year, and it has only
been 21 days since the Texas 200 ended...

There has also been a conspicuous lack of T200 journalism this year;
the only account referenced on the T200 site is Andrew's (which is, as
usual, excellent), and now we have the first section of Jim's.

I am working on mine, but I am not sure anyone will want to read it.

Andrew, It is early yet - It takes time for a design to become a legend.
Also there is this: Since the Texas200, orders for Jim Michalak's plans in
general have gone through the roof. While our overall orders are off about
30% (it always happens this time of year), orders for Jim's plans are up
that much. That could be because of you, Andrew.

Whichever path take him (and you) to riches and fame, that's all I
care about.
