Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

Delete everything inside of it, it will be re-created when you launch spotify, it should remove the message. If you want, set it to read only aftewards, shouldn't hurt anything to do so or the message will popup again over time.

Brilliant, this worked. I keep my windows up to date but it kept appearing. Contacted Tech Support and they had me uninstall and reinstall. It went away for a day. I even upgraded to Windows 11 and the message persisted. Now it's gone. Thank you.

I'm running the VERY latest windows 11 update. No spyware, nothing. Still gives me that error every time. Spotify tech support's only answer was to uninstall and reinstall. That took it away for one instance. Then it came up again.

I run Windows LTSE which doesn't get the same schedule of updates. I don't need a music service telling me every time I start program that something is out of date. It's not your job, and you're wrong.

This popup is very annoying and delays the startup of the Spotify app. I know my Windows version is not the latest, but I can't update it because of special software I use in my profession. Why can't Spotify remove this horrible popup.

I've been reading this thread for months. I tried many things but couldn't get it fixed. Today, I decided to look into it again and I finally fixed this annoying and time consuming error message. Here's how it worked and it's permanent!

Once the Advanced Security window opens, just remove the Access from everyone. You can let Full control to you. Just make sure you're an admin. From my side, I clicked Disable inheritance (in the yellow box) and it also works since i'm the owner.

So as you can see in the example above, you have to remove access to all the entries that have Full control so they cannot write again in the leveldb folder. If you just remove the files inside the leveldb folder, next time you launch Spotify, the system will add stuff inside that folder and you'll get the error message again. So make sure the system and everything else beside you don't have access. Make sure you have deleted everything in the leveldb folder before.

So I found something weird today. I was listening to one of my playlists and a song didn't quite sound right. I went back and listened again and surely enough it's a different version. A subtly different, but definitely different version (some lyrics are removed and it's about 30 seconds shorter). The song is "What A Catch, Donnie" by Fall Out Boy. If you fast forward to about 4 minutes, there use to be some lyrics there that went "where is your married man, I hope he is a gentleman, maybe he won't find out (fade) we're going down down and running around". And now it fades much sooner, and the words after aren't there.

I could also tell more subtle differences in some other songs, like Bed by Brand New. The words are the same there, but it sounds remixed, like the treble is turned down or something. Definitely different, but can't quite put my finger on why.

Anyway, I'm using the Spotify Linux client and streaming. I have these songs saved to an offline playlist on my phone. I listened to the version on my phone and it's still the old original version, so I'm not crazy.

With more investigation of this song I am even more baffled. About 90% of YouTube videos of this song use the "new" version that spotify now plays. I've only been able to find one with the "old" version.

And if you search youtube for the song, most of what you'll find is the new version. There were two albums with this song on it. I think the song version across each album is maybe different and spotify use to use one for both, and now it uses the other. I'm about to just buy the album and settle this once and for all. I didn't even know there were multiple versions before this.

Here's a good one. Degausser by Brand New. At about 1:30 on Spotify it breaks off to guitar and plays a different (non-melody) set of notes. And in general the lyrics seem to not be held so long. However, I have a version on my song where at 1:30 it breaks off to guitar and plays the melody set of notes.

I can't find the "old" spotify version anywhere, at all. I'm not aware of any alternative version of this song either. The new version is uploaded to youtube everywhere. The only place I can listen to it now is on my phone where it's saved offline. And I don't have local versions of these songs at all.

I was just listening to Irene Cara's "Flashdance...What A Feeling" and it is definitely a different vocal take and mix from those on the album. It is not a live version as I have noticed on other albums which originally feature a studio version. Anybody know the reason for this?

This problem is still occurring and is very annoying. I've checked Allmusic database to confirm the song is correct and Spotify version wrong. The versions of the following two songs now differ from their Discover Weekly versions of a few weeks ago. Ali Farke Toure's Savane - should be 7 minutes long. Galt Macdermot "Coffee cold" - live version has disappeared. The versions saved offline on my mobile phone are the original correct versions.

When I was listening to my playlist the song "the house that built me" by Miranda Lambert is now the live version. I hate live versions. Every search on spotify now only has the live version of this song. Anyone know how to stop this from happening or how to fix it

I encountered this today and have definitely encountered this before. I was trying to find the original version of The Isley Brother "Who's that Lady" today (the one in this youtube clip =EUH2JbwSlgw), and all the versions on Spotify are some weird, expletive-up version. More weirdness with "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward.

I noticed this first with "Teenage Dirtbag" which was replaced with a censored version, but this time the change is much bigger. I had the song "Kids in america" from the Riverdale soundtrack (performed by the cast) and now the song in my library is the completely different recording by "The Muffs".

For a musician who depends on playlists, the majority of which are Spotify tunes, I need it to look good - at the moment, there is a huge empty space on my page under EVERY playlist (the yellow I added is the space I wish to remove):

I noticed on @CalvinEKyour site, even on mobile version, you managed to embed a Spotify player with only a small gap (padding) under your playlist - could you share the code you used to get this to work? Many thanks!

Hey @tuanphan, thanks so much - that works great with one block (Spotify player), but if i try to apply that code as a list to the other Spotify playlists on the page, it doesn't work...

Trying to set up my new 945 and install Spotify. However when trying to download via the Connect store I am being told to get the latest version of this app I must update the watch in Garmin Express. I have added Garmin Express to my Mac and connected thew phone...made an update for maps (the only visible I can see) but can't find anywhere to make the necessary update. Can anyone help ? Many thanks

I just recently added ErgIq and when I clicked download from the store on my laptop it told me to open Garmin express with the watch plugged in, and when it synced it was on my watch after I unplugged it.

You may also need to select Spotify as your music provider once it's installed by going to Menu > Music > Music Providers, and selecting Spotify. From there it will guide you on how to login in through Garmin Connect. You also need Spotify Premium to use the Spotify app as well.

Once you plug your watch into Garmin express it should tell you about any updates available. If there is any once you add them to your watch after you unplug it, it should give you the option to install now or later. The most recent software version is 5.50, and you can verify your current version by going to Menu > System > About

I just purchased a Fenix 5x Plus and I am having the same exact issue. I need to download an update from Garmin Express, but the only update available when connected to Garmin Express (via USB) is a maps update.

Looks like this is no more required with spotify plugin 0.4.13. I recently switch from docker toolbox to docker for mac and I was running a very old version of spotify plugin. Upgrading to 0.4.13 was enough to solve the issue, no need to define DOCKER_HOST variable.

Connect to localhost:2375
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal com.spotify:docker-maven-plugin:0.4.13:build

Then your usual apt update routine (GUI tools like Software Center do this for you), and install the packages spotify-client-qt and spotify-client-gnome-support. Sometimes it's a little buggy and eats loads of CPU, or doesn't draw it's main window at startup, but in general it works great.

If you are still having trouble, what I ended up doing that worked was removing all instances in my software and sources of spotify repositories. From there I just re-added the repository by clicking add and then typing in deb stable non-free. I refreshed the window, opened up terminal, typed
