Description:
The Miami Institute for Human Genomics is seeking to hire a Lead
Systems Developer to help in establishing its Information Technology
requirements. The Lead Systems Developer will be responsible for
system analysis, design, development, and deployment of web-based
applications for clinical research, biotechnology, medical device, and
imaging data.

The Lead Systems Developer will be expected to lead the development
team in analyzing, re-designing and detailing architecture of robust,
scaleable web-based software applications for genomic research
projects. This includes strategic direction of software technologies,
determination of tools and languages to meet current and future
business needs, taking ownership of system architecture and design,
driving the development process, and mentoring software developers.

Establish framework that directs the design and build solutions and
evaluate the potential impact of system modifications, enhancements.
Develop, document and present technical design options and strategies
to the development team and management including analysis diagrams and
prototypes. Provide leadership to the development and application
support team in following best practices and standards in software
design and development. Assist management with creation of technical
specifications, use cases and functional requirements.

Bachelors Degree, or relevant certifications and experience in
Computer Science or related field plus seven years experience in
software development lifecycle including analysis, development, unit
and integration testing for n-tier web-based applications.
Five years of experience with cross-browser development technologies
like .NET, J2EE, JSP, Java-APIs, JDBC, XML/XSLT, C++ and Perl. Three
years of experience in database design and development with Oracle
DBMS 9i(and above) including PL/SQL, OLAP.
Experience in of tiered architecture and development methodologies
like SCRUM, XP, Agile etc. is preferred. Experience in a 21CFR Part
11, HIPAA and related regulatory compliance environment is a plus. Any
appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or
certifications will be considered.
