======= Introduction to the Miami Chinese Language Corner ======= 

This corner was created on May 5th, 2007 by Tao "Tonny" Liu, a native Chinese from Shanghai, China and a then Mandarin instructor of Miami Dade College. To our knowledge, it's the only live Chinese corner in the United States of America, which offers a real time linguistic environment for anyone to learn and practice Chinese in South Florida without having to be living in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, or Malaysia. Now there are over 1500 students in Miami-Dade county learning Chinese! And there are over 800 members of the Miami Chinese Language Corner!  

Participants will meet up twice a month for 1.5 hours each time. During the meet-up,
 
   - You will learn Chinese character recognition targeting 1000 most used characters 

   - You will learn Chinese expressions in daily topic
s

   - You will talk to each other in Chinese

   - You will improve your pronunciation of Chinese words

   - You will listen to others talking in Chinese

   - You will have Chinese teacher(s) or those who are fluent in Chinese on site helping you practice  spoken Chinese

   - You will get your authentic Chinese name if you don't have one yet

   - You will correct your Chinese writings

   - You will receive free material for leaning Chinese and Chinese culture 

   - You will get to know how to learn Chinese more efficiently through good methodologies and free on line software.

 If you need a native Chinese volunteer to practice Chinese conversation through phone for free, we help you if such a volunteer is available.
 
 If you need a Chinese teacher to tutor you Chinese, we will introduce one to you.
 
 If you don't have a Chinese name, we will help you create one. 

 If you don’t know how to enter pinyin tone signs in a file, we help you.
 
 If you want a free Chinese electronic dictionary, we get it for you.
 
 If you want to know how to enter Chinese characters in a Word document, we help you.
 
 If you don’t know what zodiac animal you belong to in Chinese tradition, we help you get the right software.
 
 If you want to transfer a Chinese paragraph into pinyin or English, we help you.
 
 If you want to get a website to learn Chinese classes for free, we help you.

 If you want to find a Chinese translation service, we help you.
