Hey all! Whoohoo!! We had some last minute saves thanks to Runaways Rescue and Polk Co Bully Project. Despite getting 3 dogs out on Fri and a rescue hold on another, we still have only 2 open kennels in the outside unsecured kennels and another dog waiting to come to our location. We actually had 2 dogs escape from the outdoor kennels over the weekend apparently. We are still holding a cruelty case dog for who knows how much longer and a bite case dog until July 20th. If you have any room, I can be reached via email, phone, or text. Work cell 863-228-6265. Personal cell 812-241-9572. We have no public adoptions and only utilize rescues. We also have no vetting, but can usually help with transport. I do have a limited number of heartworm tests, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, dewormer, and FELV tests upon request. *Please note, all my face to face dog testing is done on leash due to not having an area to test off leash*
Shishimi-M-Lilac/W-Pitbull Mix-Appx 10 mo-1 yr. Very sweet/puppyish. Walks OK on leash (pulls some). Knows “sit”. *Stiff with another stiff male, but did try to play with a playful male. Doesn’t really seem to know how to play. Tested well with a female, but got pretty excited* but did show some food aggression with his neighbor when food present. Appears kennel trained if kept on schedule. Per other officer was dumped in a crate by a white van in front of someone’s house. *Has been here over a month**Head of a frenchie, body of a pit* 55 lbs *On the euth list*
Jalapeno-M-Tan-Cur Mix-Appx 1-2 yrs. Very sweet. Puppyish. Walks well on leash. Does not appear kennel trained. Per previous owner is not good with other dogs. Did show dominant behavior (marking and hackles raised) through the kennel with his male neighbor, but no fighting. Has small growth on lip. *Underweight* 35.5 lbs *On the euth list*
Guajillo-M-White/Black-Samoyed/Husky Mix-Appx 2-3 yrs. Very sweet. Walks well ok leash (typical husky jumping around). Starting to get the hang of kennel training.*Smaller than he looks* *Growled and was stiff with a male dog and tried to mount. The other dog was stiff too, so that may have been the issue*. 43.5 lbs *On the euth list*
Parsley-M-Brindle/W-Cur Mix-Appx 1 yr. Very sweet. Walks well on leash. Appears kennel trained. Quiet and calm in kennel. *Tested well with playful male dog, but was stiff/growled with a stiff male. Does like to hump. Loves playing with females!*. HW+, but started on doxy. *Has been here over a month* 51 lbs *Has been here almost 2 months*
Bronze (name he came with)-M-Tri colored-Terrier Mix-Appx 1 yr 4 mo. Very sweet. Still getting used to leash. *100% kennel trained*, but per previous owner is not housetrained. Per previous owner is good with kids, but was surrendered for “nipping” at a child who startled him (no actual bite). Per previous owner is not good with big dogs. Has not been good with his big dog neighbors. 23 lbs
Poblano-M-Brindle-Pitbull-Appx 1 yr. Shy, but sweet. Walks well on leash. Seems good with other dogs through the kennel. Appears kennel trained if kept on schedule. *Large tear out of ear that causes it to often flop backwards* 51 lbs
Serrano-M-Black/W-Pitbull-Appx 1 yr. Super sweet! Has made a complete turn around! *Velcro dog!* Wants to be as close to you as possible.. Starting to get used to the leash. Does not appear kennel trained. Seems good with other dogs through the kennel. Seems bonded to “Bell Pepper” who is most likely his sibling. 38 lbs
Bell Pepper-F-Black/W-Pitbull-Appx 1 yr. Super sweet! Has made a complete turn around! *Velcro dog!* Wants to be as close to you as possible. Starting to get used to the leash. Does not appear kennel trained. Seems good with other dogs through the kennel. Does seem bonded to “Serrano” who is most likely her sibling. 40 lbs
Habanero-F-Black/W-Chi/Rat Terrier Mix-Appx 5 yrs. Very sweet. Walks well on leash. Unknown on kennel trained at this time. Seems good with other dogs through the kennel. 4 lbs *Priority will be given to those that have recently taken a big dog, can currently take a big dog, or can take a cat*
Cayenne-F-Calico-DSH-Appx 1 yr. Feral and *possibly pregnant*. Willing to TNR, but will need an appointment somewhere.
Chile de Arbol-F-Tabby/W-DLH-Appx 1 yr. Super sweet. *Currently in heat*
Tabasco-M-Red/W-Pit-Appx 3-4 yrs. *Currently at other location, but will be coming to me this week as space permits* Per other officer, he is very sweet.
Cascabella-F-Black/W-Potbelly Pig-Unknown age. *Still trying to trap, but she did let me pet her nose today. Will need a plan for immediate placement, as I have nowhere to house*. Does appear possibly pregnant. Possibly missing or blind in left eye. Left ear appears ripped off as well.
