Charlie - Altered male, 17yo, 23.3lbs
Charlie is a 17-year-old surrendered due to his owner relocating abroad and being unable to take him. Due to his age, Charlie cannot be medically cleared to fly. He has been with his owner for 12 years.
Charlie is described as calm, quiet, and very friendly. He is affectionate and somewhat of a velcro dog, enjoying attention and companionship. He enjoys long walks, treats, squeaky toys, and small dog friends, especially females. He will bark at strangers at the door but is friendly once introduced. Charlie is housebroken, can be kenneled or crated, walks well on leash, and does well when left alone without stress or destructive behavior, though he may not eat right away. Charlie dislikes large dogs, is fearful of rough, high-energy small children and may become defensive when scared, and is suspicious around cats.
A low-grade heart murmur was noted at intake. No other major medical or health concerns were noted. Full bloodwork and a 4DX test were completed last week, and additional veterinary records are being requested. He prefers grain-free food and can be picky with treats and food.
