| Hi Davis,
I think both topics would be interesting. I'd like the GWT session. Sounds like you have some good experience with it and that makes for a good talk.
Email me directly with your bio and an abstract. We have a speaker for December but no one confirmed for January or February. I'd like to start sending out information, possibly even an exercise prior to meetings. Just to give attendees more context and to generate more interaction.
Send me an abstract and more info. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers! David McKinnon

Hi,
I'm new to the list here, and poking my way around, but not new to Java.
I'm attempting to get more involved more in my local community instead of always having my head down building stuff for other people as a one man consultancy. That said, I'd be interested in presenting at some upcoming meetings. I think it would be a good chance to meet people and introduce myself. Two topics I thought I'd throw out there that I didn't really see covered recently or upcoming:
Google Web Toolkit (GWT): I just built a production system using this tech and I am a big fan. I learned a lot of great stuff along the way that I would love to share -- especially if someone is considering building a new RIA webapp and they are a Java shop, they might find it very helpful. Some topics I was thinking of covering: GWT Overview, Integration with Spring, UI patterns, best practices for testing
Apache Maven: It tends to be a polarizing tool for Java projects (love it or hate it). I'm in the former camp. I've used it since its first inception, and I've re-factored several Enterprise builds from Ant -> Maven to increase build time, continuous integration, reporting, project setup, dependency management, etc. Some topics I was thinking of covering: Maven intro, How to move from Ant -> Maven and why you should care, plugin overviews, SCM integration, CI integration, testing, multi-module projects, dependency management.
Let me know if anyone might be interested in these topics. I suppose my first step is to show up at the next get-together, which I plan to do :)
Best regards, Davis
