Hello Chicago!
Do we have a week for you! Join us this Wednesday for a Lag B'Omer bonfire co-sponsored by Mishkan Chicago, Saturday for a performance of Cloud Tetonics, or Monday for a screening of The Homestretch. We look forward to seeing you all!

All the Best,

Claire, Eleanor, Tova, and Amir

Lag B'Omer

Wednesday, May 6, 7 PM- 9 PM

Meet at Moishe House Rogers Park (RSVP for address)

Lag B'Omer is a day for hair cuts and bonfires. You can get a hair cut on your own time but Mishkan Chicago and Moishe House Chicago are teaming up to give you the best bonfire of the spring. There'll be a singing and storytelling and plenty of 'smores. The theme for the story slam is hair so come ready to tell your most "hair-raising" stories. BYOBB (bring your own blanket and booze/drinks).

CLOUD TECTONICS by José Rivera

Saturday, May 9, 7 PM

Meet at Moishe House Rogers Park (RSVP for address)

Tickets are free, but you must RSVP by May 5th

“And where is ‘time?’ Is the organ for ‘time’ the heart? Is it the spinal chord, that silver waterfall of nerves and memories: is ‘time’ in there?”  - Celestina del Sol

On a street corner in Los Angeles, Celestina del Sol hitchhikes during a torrential rainstorm. As Aníbal de la Luna soon learns, Celestina’s presence makes clocks stop. José Rivera’s magical realistic play, Cloud Tectonics, invites us to begin to trust that time can be suspended, and to imagine how else we might measure and express love. Join us for an outing to the Northwestern Theatre (and for Tova’s dramaturgical debut!), and for post-show drinks.

Film Screening: The Homestretch

Monday, May 11, 7 PM

RSVP to Eleanor for the address. This event WILL NOT be held at Moishe House.

The Homestretch follows three homeless teens as they fight to stay in school, graduate, and build a future. Each of these smart, ambitious teenagers - Roque, Kasey and Anthony - will surprise, inspire, and challenge audiences to rethink stereotypes of homelessness as they work to complete their education while facing the trauma of being alone and abandoned at an early age. Join us as we watch this critically acclaimed documentary and discuss ways that we can address youth homelessness in Chicago. Dinner will be provided.
