Hello Chicago,

We have a packed week, including a bonfire with Abi Weber, a teach-in with JCUA, and a bike ride through a beautiful forest. We would also like to give a shout out to our great summer subletter, Beki, and welcome her to Rogers Park after many years living in Israel!

All the Best,

Eleanor, Tova, Amir, and Claire

Trauma Center Teach-in with JCUA

Wednesday, June 10th, 7 pm

Moishe House Rogers Park, email for address

While gun violence occurs across Chicago at an alarming rate, much of which is on the south side, University of Chicago does not have an adult trauma center to care for those who are injured. Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) organizer and former Moishe House resident Danny Kaplan will lead a teach-in to explain what JCUA and other organizations are doing to campaign for a Level-1 Adult Trauma Center for the south side. A vegetarian dinner will be served.

Abi is Back! Bonfire

Saturday, June 13th, 6:30 pm

Moishe House Rogers Park, email for address

Remember that girl Abi Weber, who used to live in MoHoRoPo (as she called it)? She’s back in town, and she wants to see you! Come chill with Abi as we munch on cheezits, smores, and other Abi-themed foods (all vegetarian, of course) next to the bonfire. Maybe she’ll even serenade us with her rendition of One Week!

Bike Ride

Sunday, June 14, 11 AM- 2 PM

Start at Moishe House Rogers Park, email for address

Biking in the woods? Sounds too good to be true! Join Claire for a ride along the North Branch Trail to see the forest in late spring. Picnic lunch provided.
