At Moishe House Rogers Park we are getting excited for the house to fill back up in August. Tova is returning from the Yiddish School in a couple weeks and we will also welcome a new resident toward the end of the month. Claire will be leaving us as she heads off to Princeton for grad school and we will all have a chance to say goodbye before she go. For now Beki and Amir are holding down the fort and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Movies at Their Place
A viewing and discussion of The House I Live In (2012)
Wednesday August 27, 6:30 PM
Not at Moishe House, Email for the Rogers Park address
Our favorite Rogers Park neighbors are hosting a second “Movie at Their Place,” a film screening and discussion program addressing current social issues. A vegetarian dinner will be provided. This month David Frankel is hosting; here’s his introduction to the film:
President Obama has recently made prison and sentencing reform a major pursuit for the last years of his administration. It is now more important than ever to learn the facts and gain the vocabulary necessary for participating in this crucially important conversation which has the potential to save millions of lives and change the way we think about non-violent drug crimes. The House I Live In (dir. Eugene Jarecki) provides not only an understandable presentation of the prison industrial complex but also a glimpse into the lives of real prison guards, judges, police officers, and most importantly, the once-free people who sit in prisons around America today...so we don't have to.
