The aleph bet. Many of us have fond memories of learning these letters from songs and childrens' books. We have come to know them as perhaps the most quintessential symbols of the Jewish tradition that we embrace today. Join us as we welcome David Frankel, who will reveal the hidden story of the aleph bet. It will be a journey through Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, Phoenician temple inscriptions, magical incantations, cryptic copper treasure maps, Sufi spiritual guides, and more! We’ll celebrate Havdallah and eat a delicious meal together, as well.

José Rivera’s magical realistic play, Cloud Tectonics, invites us to begin to trust that time can be suspended, and to imagine how else we might measure and express love. Join us for an outing to the Northwestern Theatre (and for Tova’s dramaturgical debut!), and for post-show drinks.

Each of these smart, ambitious teenagers - Roque, Kasey and Anthony - will surprise, inspire, and challenge audiences to rethink stereotypes of homelessness as they work to complete their education while facing the trauma of being alone and abandoned at an early age. Join us as we watch this critically acclaimed documentary and discuss ways that we can address youth homelessness in Chicago. Dinner will be provided.
