Dear Moishe friends,

Is it summer or is it summer?! (We know, we know. Summer doesn't officially start until June 21st.) We're so glad that the warm weather is back that we're going to have TWO bonfires in June. We'll have some special guests in town, and we'll say bon voyage to Tova (for the summer) and Eleanor (for reals). We look forward to hanging out under the sun and the moon with you next month!

Best,

Amir, Claire, Tova, and Eleanor

Trauma Center Teach-in with JCUA

Wednesday, June 10th, 7 pm

Moishe House Rogers Park, email for address

While gun violence occurs across Chicago at an alarming rate, much of which is on the south side, University of Chicago does not have an adult trauma center to care for those who are injured. Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) organizer and former Moishe House resident Danny Kaplan will lead a teach-in to explain what JCUA and other organizations are doing to campaign for a Level-1 Adult Trauma Center for the south side. A vegetarian dinner will be served.

Abi is Back! Bonfire

Remember that girl Abi Weber, who used to live in MoHoRoPo (as she called it)? She’s back in town, and she wants to see you! Come chill with Abi as we munch on cheezits, smores, and other Abi-themed foods (all vegetarian, of course) next to the bonfire. Maybe she’ll even serenade us with her rendition of One Week!

Meet at the beach, where Pratt meets the Lake

Join us for a carefree shabbat afternoon at the beach. We’re thinking classic picnic so bring your favorite summer salad to share.  Maybe it will be warm enough for a dip in the lake...
