Good afternoon,

A position for a Research Fellow is slated to open in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, in July 2012. This position, currently occupied by AKU grad, is a clinical research position focused on peri-operative echocardiography, with both transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography employed. Fellows will be trained in both TEE and TTE and will perform TTEs on patients for various prospective studies amongst other projects.

The position is sponsored by Harvard Medical School and is very well paid. The visa provided is a J1 Research Visa without a 2-year home requirement. A 2-year contract is preferred though a shorter length can be negotiated.

This position requires:

· 1 - Successful completion of USMLE Step 1 before July 2012. Preferably, Step 2 should also have been completed.
· 2 - Demonstrable experience in research and statistical analysis, with a particular focus on manuscript writing.

While this fellowship is beneficial for candidates applying to a wide variety of specialties including cardiac surgery, cardiology etc, candidates with a preference for pursuing residency training in anesthesia will have the most to gain.

Interested applicants should send their resumes and a brief note to address: hwar...@bidmc.harvard.edu. His name is: Haider Javed
