Brian,
Before yolu do anything come to our meeting and then also come to the shop on Saturday and talk to the faceting instructor.  If they were still in business you might consider the Facette maching, but they are not but you might pick up a used one.

Subject: {MGSCV General} Facetron vs Graves Mark 5xL

So, really interested in starting faceting as a hobby.

Torn between Facetron and Mark 5xL (digital). I do understand Facetron is revered the leader of faceting machine for hobbyist. With that said there is a $900.00+ cost difference and I am not sure if the abilities between the two machines warrant paying the additional money.

Can anyone chime in and help me decide? I have very little knowledge of faceting other than concept. I did toy with gemology as a teen, but not faceting.

I am planning on coming to a meeting next Tues for hopefully to broaden my desires to start this as a hobby.

Thanks for any response in advance.

Bryan Mayo
