Hello All,

Wendy & I just had this note come across our desk from Cynthia Tina who operates a community finders organization.  We find it to be so "right on".  We think you might enjoy it for upgrading your life.

In Love & Truth,

Hi Mariposa Group community.

Most people start exploring intentional communities because something about "default living" isn't working for them anymore.

Your life might look fine on paper. But something feels missing. You want more connection, more meaning, more purpose...

Over the years, I’ve spoken with thousands of people exploring community living. Everyone’s path is different, but there are certain themes I hear again and again.

Here are a few signs you may be ready for a change:

1. You’ve outgrown the life you built

Maybe your work, social circle, or daily routine used to fit you well, but now it feels draining or out of alignment. You’re craving something deeper, even if you can’t fully name it yet.

2. You feel lonely or disconnected

Even people with strong careers, families, and friendships can feel isolated. A lot of people are longing for deeper connection, mutual support, and a stronger sense of belonging.

3. You’re questioning the way modern life is set up

The constant pressure to work more, consume more, and do everything alone just doesn’t make sense to you anymore. You’re starting to wonder if there’s a healthier way to live.

4. You want to contribute to something meaningful

A lot of people are looking at the state of the world right now and feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. Climate issues. Loneliness. Division. Housing. Burnout. Many people exploring community want to be part of building something better instead of just watching things fall apart.

5. You dream about a simpler or more grounded lifestyle

Growing food. Shared meals. Living closer to nature. Knowing your neighbors. Having people to rely on. Even if you don’t know exactly what form it would take, something about community life keeps pulling at you.

6. You’re going through a major life transition

A surprising number of people find community during moments of change. Retirement. Divorce. Burnout. A move. Loss. A shift in priorities. Sometimes these transitions open the door to imagining a completely different life.

7. You keep coming back to this topic

You’ve watched videos about communities. Read articles. Maybe taken my quiz or browsed community listings. For some reason, this world keeps catching your attention.

...

If you see yourself in several of these points, it may be worth giving yourself permission to explore what this path could look like for you.  I’ve seen how powerful it can be when people step outside their normal environment, connect with others asking similar questions, and experience a different way of living firsthand.
