Subject: Penny Wars Philanthropy Event

Hello Everyone,

 

My name is Alex Liu and I am the Philanthropy Chair of Zeta Psi and the IFC President. Zeta Psi is organizing a Penny Wars between the Greek organizations on campus that would hopefully start shortly after spring break. Essentially, every participating organization would have a large jug and all of these jugs will be placed at a central location on campus (either the Library, Union, or Lecture Halls) where anybody can donate money. Any kind of change will count as positive points and any paper money would count as negative points. The jugs will be left there for a 2 week period and whichever organization collects the most points at the end will win a $100 bar tab (we're still looking into this, but some kind of prize will be awarded) and obviously a lot of recognition/bragging rights. Sign up is easy, just email me confirming that your organization is interested and pay a $5.00 registration fee that will go towards the purchasing of your large jug. I think this will be a great way to channel the competitiveness between organizations into something that can bring in a lot of money towards charity and show the power of the Greek organizations. All proceeds will go towards Teens Living with Cancer (TLC), an organization that caters to the unique needs of teens aged 13-20 suffering from cancer. Once I have an estimate of the number of organizations interested I will be able to hammer out a final location for the jugs and the prize.
