Database for analysis

Hi guys,

as we all know, MG-RAST uses several databases to annotate the data, but I would like to know if there is a desire to add new databases such as the CARD (The Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database) and BacMet (Antibacterial biocide and metal resistance genes database). 

I believe that the implementation of these databases will allow for more accurate analyzes of antimicrobial resistance genes and heavy metals.

 Hi Kayo,

good question. We are actively working on adding new databases. CARD was on the list as well as GO, BacMet, CAZY, Interpro and others.

The databases will be rolled out in one of our next updates. The complete list is here: https://github.com/MG-RAST/myM5NR/blob/master/sources.yaml

PS: this might have been a better fit for the help desk. We are welcoming proposals for additional databases. They need to be publicly available with no strings attached.
