Dear MFU Members,

I am sending the attached constitution revision under the authority of MFU President, Chief, Dr. Paul Onuoha and the Chairman of the Revision Committee, Chief Sir SOS Echendu. Please see a draft of the updated revisions to our governing document. New editions to the constitution are delineated in BLUE or RED ink to bring these revision proposals to your attention. Our final reading and debate will be at our next general meeting. I am hereby proposing a motion for the adoption of these revisions, subject to any further amendments, suggestions, or revisions by the MFU General meeting assembly. Please read and bring your objections or acquiescence to the floor debate at our next monthly meeting. The president and Committee Chairman have both asked me to thank our great union members for entrusting us with this task. We are also very grateful to all committee members for their sacrifices and service to our Association in thoroughly vetting and making our constitution more reflective of our hopes and aspirations for a vibrant Union into the near future. May God continue to bless our families and our Association.

Charles Abiahu.

Dear Members,

Please review the attached Constitution ... (MFU Constitution ... May 2023 Meeting Corrections)
It incorporates all of our agreed suggestions from the General Meeting of May 2023. If there are no errors in my capturing of these agreed recommendations, I am proposing a Motion to adopt this revised constitution during our meeting in June. For your convenience please refer to the following corrections and paginations as authorized in our May meeting  ...

1. MFU Catchment Area ... Membership of MFU is expanded beyond the triangle but limited to residents within the state of North Carolina (Reference to Submission by Senior Architect Desmond Anyanwu Nwaogwugwu
2. DELETED ... Pg 5, Article V (2)(a) (iii). Members rejected this provision allowing the spouse of an mbaise son who refuses to join to be admitted. This would contradict our Mission of promoting cohesion in families and among members.
3. Unexcused absences from meetings changed from 3 months to 6 months for loss of membership benefits and privileges ... (Pg 6, Article Vi(30(ii)
4. Relocation definitions relate to moving out of the State of North Carolina, and not the Triangle as previously written (Also see NOTATION REMARKS. (Pg 6)
5. A member who has medical or other emergency situations may avoid the penalty for not hosting and the failure to arrange for a replacement host family (Pg 14, Article IX (10(C)(i) (per submission of Sir Maurice Ejere)
6. All references to the EXECUTIVE refers to the elected Executive Council Members (Article XI(e)
7. DELETED ... section allowing a spouse to designate a third party to receive bereavement benefits so long as married couples are jointly registered as a family unit with MFU (Article XI (3)(4)
8. Members window to pay Bereavement Levy expanded to 90 days (Pg 24, Article XI (4)(a)

Sincerely,

Charles Abiahu.

Dear MFU Member,

As requested by our members during our July Meeting, I have highlighted key revisions approved during our meeting in May. Furthermore, please refer to the following reference guide to assist you in verifying any sections that interest you. Please take notice that the meeting did vote to foreclose all further debates and or corrections. This attachment is the officially adopted copy reflecting all revisions and corrections made at both the Constitution Committee and General meeting revisions. Our meeting will only entertain any corrections relating to errors in capturing or reflecting the intentions of the members during these corrections or anything that is new or foreign to the agreed draft. In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURES, I have required that the Executive Members act as one body in exercising the authority to withhold a payment to any member from Mbaise USA. This is a power that can easily be abused and it is prudent that we do not just allow the president alone to take such a decision. Furthermore, i have added a clause that gives our General meeting the authority to ratify or to vacate the decision depending on the circumstances of each case as they present. Please see pages 21 to 22 as highlighted. Everything else is my best ability to capture and reflect our agreed intentions. If we find any errors, it would be an innocent mistake and would promptly be corrected if brought to my attention. This adopted Constitution draft would be ratified at our August meeting and become effective September 1st, if there are no objections by our members. On behalf of the President of our esteemed union, Engineer Paul Onuoha, and our constitution revision Committee Chaiman, and national president, chief SOS echendu, I thank all committee members and our members for allowing us to serve you. May god continue to bless MFU, and our respective families.

4. Relocation definitions relate to moving out of the State of North Carolina, and not the Triangle as previously written (Also see NOTATION remarks. (Pg 6)
