Marblehead Festival of Arts will Present Winning 2013 Logo on Tuesday, January 22

Marblehead, MA (January 8, 2013) The community is invited to the Marblehead Festival of Arts Annual Logo Premiere Party on Tuesday, January 22, from 7–9 pm, at The Landing Restaurant, 81 Front Street, Marblehead. At the Logo Premiere Party, the winning 2013 Logo will be displayed for the first time, and an award will be presented to the winning artist. Delicious hors d’oeuvres will accompany a cash bar.

Every year, the Festival is represented by a new logo, the result of a design competition. This year’s Logo Contest featured more than 40 entries from Essex County professional graphic artists, art hobbyists and art students. A panel of three judges selected three finalists. The winner was then selected by public ballot at 16 voting locations in Marblehead and neighboring towns, where over 1300 ballots were cast. The finalist and semifinalist logo entries will also be on display that evening.

Sandra Broughton, chairperson of the Logo Premiere Party, states, “In addition to celebrating the winning logo and kicking off the Festival year, the evening has become a great way to chase away the winter blues, meet and greet Festival friends and hear about Festival plans in the making. Those interested in becoming volunteers are also encouraged to come to learn more and enjoy the fun.”

The Marblehead Festival of Arts is an all-volunteer organization, and Festival Board Members will be on hand to answer any questions attendees may have. Preparations are underway for fundraising events, exhibits and performing arts that all require help. The 2012 Festival slide show will be on display, featuring the many year-round activities the Festival sponsors.

See the finalist designs and the award-winning logos of the past 48 years on the Festival website, MarbleheadFestival.org.
