Prachi- Sweet! Thanks!!
Let's see if I can play catch up on this:
Friday, Oct 5- Big data can include "softer" things like emotions/eating habits. What happens when your data is compared to others with your illness?
Saturday, Oct 6- Could I attach a flex sensor to a squeeze ball and measure strength training process??
Sunday, Oct 7- The Chronic Care Model seems to be focused on the "system". Biased towards getting proper coordination between professionals, with no details for patients' self-management.
Monday, Oct 8- Could I make medical devices look less beige & more desirable? Also, the people I should be interviewing should be past the transition period in their life. They'll be able to reflect more clearly, and remember to keep in the emotions of the transition.
Tuesday, Oct 9- Incentives need to be matched to user-centered care. Should I be adding to the system? Or repurposing what's there?
Deeds-
Read up on Chronic Illness Care Model. Started reading "Bringing User Experience to Healthcare" and "The Power of Habit". Caught up on reading "Mental Models" until the interview research part. Wrote up a research proposal, shared with Maggie. Drew up my cultural probe. Met with Maggie to get a framework of healthcare system works. Sent out an email to my friend Nick to see if he could get me in contact with Dave Cronin.
To Do-
Refine cultural probe. Create leave-behind postcards to recruit participants. Get in contact with Rick's physical-therapist friend. Send out recruit email. Talk to people!! Finish reading.
