Hello,

I'm just curious if anyone has tried replacing the flash-based
filebrowser-safe uploader with the JS-based uploader from filebrowser?
It appears that the successor to fileuploader.js is called
fine-uploader, but you gotta build it yourself if you want to use it
for free. Looks easy enough.

Any interest in nuking the swf? I'll probably give it a shot today.
From what I can see, it doesn't look to be too bad, and it might just
be a drop-in deal.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

I'm sure there is lots of interest in this change, and any effort you make that moves this forward will be greatly appreciated.

best,

As Ken said, quite welcome if you're willing to roll your sleeves up.

Here's some background:

Sure thing. I have it mostly working now. It's a hack job replacing
some of the upload functionality with the stuff from
django-filebrowser. Some easily realized benefits: No flash, CSRF
works, and here it is again no flash! I need to clean things up and
create a patchset for review. Probably be next week with a little
luck.

Pardon my doubling of this comment but it seems more appropriate here:

I have experience doing multiple uploads via jQuery and ajax POSTs. You could then add "not being page refreshes" to your list of bonuses. Any interest along those lines?
