Weird, no Mets Minor League box scores Saturday night for the first time in over 150 days.
So instead we’ll focus on an article in the Syracuse Post Standard about how a AAA team should to woo the Mets.
Matt Michael quotes Syracuse Chiefs General Manager John Simone as saying regarding the Chiefs plans for entertaining the Mets or any other potential suitors:
"It's hard to answer that, because we can't talk about it (because of baseball's tampering rules), and you're assuming we haven't already done that. Let me put it this way: All of the parties who are interested in coming in have all the information they need from us."
Simone was clear however, that the Chiefs have been planning:
"We obviously are prepared for Sept. 18," Simone said. "Everything that needs to be done has been done."
The Buffalo Bisons GM Mike Bucskowski appears to have a different approach:
"As much as people think this is all pre-planned and ready to go, we don't know until the list comes out officially," Buczkowski said. "And you don't really know what other people are thinking until you're allowed to talk to them."
Even better, Senator Charles Schumer claims that his buddy, Mets COO Jeff Wilpon said of Buffalo and Syracuse:
“both are in the running, and both are strong contenders."
Senators are clearly not covered by baseball’s tampering rules.
