Mrs. Anjali Kurian

Anjali was born in Kochi, but brought up in Kolkata where she studied at the prestigious La Martiniere school at Kolkata and completed her BA English (Honours) from Kolkata St. Xavier’s college.

Anjali is now settled in Cochin with her husband John Kurian and children Ayesha and Riyad. A very popular radio jockey at Radio Mango, she also writes a column for The Deccan Chronicle every week.

Anjali is the daughter of illustrious singer Usha Uthup and was recently in the news when three generations (Usha Uthup, Anjali and her daughter Ayesha) performed live at GIMA (Global Indian Music awards) at Mumbai.

Anjali  is quite outspoken about social atrocities and unfairness that exists in the world. This is clearly reflected in her writings for Deccan Chronicle. She never fails to respond and react be it on Facebook or through her columns or her speeches or her radio show. Anjali has the gift of the gab and anyone who has listened to her on the radio will vouch for this. Anything Anjali speaks on is straight from the heart.
