Lay Speaking Basic Course - Sussex UMC - Winter 2009

Well Circuit 36 is at it again. We have planned a Basic Lay Speaking
class beginning January 20 and running 5 weeks. It will be at 7 pm and
held at the Sussex UMC. So far, we have 4 folks firmly signed up from
circuit churches and would be happy to open it for the District. No
fee, just cover the expenses of the book, which I see is on discount

Each session will be taught by a different pastor from the Circuit
and I will lead out on the 20th.

Our class started on Tuesday and we had 11 enthusiastic folks
participate! The first session is behind us and next week our
instructor will be Rev Linda Vance form Salem UMC. The topic will be
worship. Read chapters 3 & 4, study the UM Hymnal with an eye for how
it is organized and the variety of indices in the back.
