I thought we can make this thread as a sort of an informal
introduction to ourselves as well as demographics poll as David
suggested.

So, my bio and rants are on my blog, http://www.ilyasterin.com.

I live in Saint Clair Shores and work there too:-) I work from home
and local cafes, since my job is mostly telecommute. I'm employed by
Nextrials, which is a clinical trials EDC software company in the Bay
Area.

I've consulted for numerous companies in the past, some bigger ones
included Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Ford Motor Company, and DTE Energy.

Any other questions about me, please ask and I'll gladly answer.

Nice blog, Ilya!

I don't have a blog yet, although I hear it is farily easy to get started.
What are you using? I have been told Wordpress is easy to use.

I would like to get my information/history posted.

I started out from the ground up! The short list is, Technician, Electronics
and Micro-processors, Assembly Language, Engineering Projects (hardware and
software), BASIC, C, C++, Borland IDE Tools, Windows Applications, Linux
.... to be continued:)
In my company, I have been invloved with LED Displays on the Factory Floor
for many years. Mostly Automotive, they display such real-time data as
"Target Count", "Actual Count", "Effeciency", "Rejects", etc. Since
Automotive has been very slow, I have started a computer department and am
looking to grow it.
Also my new LED Display is on my web site www.data-masters.com

Since I am self employed, I can ask the boss to leave early for meetings
that start at 6 PM to avoid that rush hour traffic:)

Thanks,
David

David, I use typepad.com. I r eally love their software, and although
it's not free, I'm sure $10 a month won't break you:-) Just seems to
be more polished and you actually get swift support if anything ever
happens, which rarely does.

Hello everyone,

My name is David McKinnon. I have been in IT since 1990. I've worked
at Compuware since 1999 primarily as a programmer on the File Aid\CS
product. I've coded in Visual Basic, VC++ and Java. Prior to
Compuware I coded in COBOL, RPG3 and Visual Basic.

I am currently a QA Analyst with the Covisint branch of Compuware. I
like to say "I have finally started to get paid for what I do best,
which is breaking software."

I have interests in Usability, UI Design, Patterns and OOD. I
generally enjoy learning and thinking of ways to exploit
technologies. Since I've been working in QA I've grown to miss
development a great deal and I look forward to learning all I can from
everyone in the group.

As I've written to IIya, I don't think my knowledge or capabilities
will be anywhere near the caliber as some of the members I've seen
sign up for the group. I still hope I can add something to the
group.

I'm married and blessed with two amazing but exasperating daughters,
11 and 13. We live in Royal Oak.

David
