You cannot do this within Quartus, but you should be able to write a script to achieve what you want. For example, you can have the script change your search path so that when you type quartus_sh, it either finds it from the 9.1 or the 10.0 directories (for example).

Basically, whenever i open quartus prime it gives me prompt saying "you successfully installed the quartus prime software, but did not install any devices. Do you want to launch the device installer to add devices?

Here is a step by step of quartus prime standard edition version 21.1. The first instance, I demonstrate ctrl+c and ctrl+v without highlight similar instances selected, which works properly. The second instance, I demonstrate ctrl+c and ctrl+v with highlight similar instances selected and it shows the error of pasting every instance of the selected word in the text editor.

We use schematics as our top level design. I'd like to be able to update all the symbols in the schematic as part of the compilation scripts. I scanned through the command line options (quartus_sh etc.) and didn't see anything to update the symbols, but I'm hoping I just missed it.

I have got Quartus II 13.0.1 running on my new PC by checking the "Run this program as an administrator" option on the Compatibility tab under Properties of the quartus.exe application at C:\altera\13.0sp1\quartus\bin64.

I had the chance to switch Motherboards, so no I am no longer on the Ryzen but on a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9800X CPU @ 3.80GHz. This core is clearly faster for quartus, however I didn't find the perfect settings yet I guess. Interessting: The guy who is now using the Ryzen CPU tells me that he measured about 30% better performance for his matlab/jmag tasks compared to the Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9800X CPU @ 3.80GHz. So the AMD core is not bad per se, but Quartus is not able to wake its powers.

Sad to say but this is just very very poor support from intel @skyjuice @SyafieqS . More than two weeks gone without a useful suggestion. Not even a discussion. Either you are helpless overcharged, you think it is not an important topic, or you know exactly that you have a problem here but are not allowed to talk about. I suspect the last. However this is a) not helpful and b) it will not stop the rumours about intel slowing quartus down on processors other than intel! Be aware that such stories may influence early design desicions...

When I manually installed the driver I pointed to the following directory: C:\intelFPGA_lite\21.1\quartus\drivers

I initially went down the directory tree further however it could not find the driver. I retried it stopping at the upper level 'drivers' directory and it worked. I attached a JPG file to show the directory structure

Info (125068): Revision "patmos" was previously opened in QuartusPrime software version 19.1.0 Lite Edition. Created Quartus PrimeDefault Settings File/opt/t-crest/patmos/hardware/quartus/altde2-115/patmos_assignment_defaults.qdf,which contains the default assignment setting information from QuartusPrime software version 19.1.0 Lite Edition.

Info (125069): Default assignment values were changed in the current version of the Quartus Prime software -- changes to defaultassignments values are contained in file/opt/intel_FPGA/quartus/linux64/assignment_defaults.qdf

There has been little research concerning this muscle since the 1920s, when Hecker described this muscle to be present in (13%) of his dissections of cadaver legs. The purpose of our dissections was to establish the incidence of the peroneus quartus muscle, its origins, and insertions. One hundred and twenty-four legs from 65 fresh human cadavers were dissected under loupe magnification. When the peroneus quartus tendon was found, its origin, insertion, and anatomic relationship to the peroneus longus and peroneus brevis were observed. All specimens were sketched and photographed. The peroneus quartus muscle was present in 27 legs (21.7% of specimens). Its origins, insertions, and size varied. In 17 legs (63%) the muscle originated from the muscular portion of the peroneus brevis, and inserted on the peroneal tubercle of the calcaneus. The peroneal tubercle was hypertrophied at the insertion in most cases. The results of this study in general show that there was much higher incidence of the peroneus quartus muscle than Hecker claimed. Its course, origin, and insertion varied. Its tendon can be used for reconstructive procedures about the lateral aspect of the ankle, especially in anterior dislocation of the peroneal tendons and reconstruction of lateral ligaments.

Quartus Prime Lite and Questa can be installed with the quartus-freeAUR meta-package. This meta-package will also install device support for every supported device family. To save on disk space once the package is built, you can install only the necessary components. For example:

quartus-free-quartus requires quartus-free-devinfo, which is provided by any one of the packages with a quartus-free-devinfo- prefix. For example, install the quartus-free-devinfo-cyclonevAUR dependency if you have a Cyclone V FPGA.

Quartus II 13.0 Web Edition is "the last version to support Cyclone II and earlier FPGAs", so install quartus-free-130AUR instead of quartus-free if support for such devices is needed. See also quartus-130AUR for the SP1 Subscription Edition.

Another possible cause may be a missing 32-bit version of libudev.so [2]. lib32-systemd provides this shared object, so make sure it is installed. (This should already be the case since it is a transitive dependency of quartus-free-quartusAUR.)

Both tags have been created back in 2014, whereby quartus-ii has been created 4 month earlier. This tag has also more associated questions with it (121 vs. 49) and more followers (27 vs. 13). Thus up to here, quartus-ii seems to be the more appropriate tag and quartus should be a synonym of quartus-ii.

But, with the release of version 15.0 in November 2015, Altera renamed this software suite to Quartus Prime. It is a direct successor of Quartus II 14.1. Many backend tools are still the same, so that reported error messages (regarding vhdl and verilog code) are still the same. Now, keeping the tag quartus, refering to both Quartus II and Quartus Prime, seems to be more appropriate.

...So it is now done. quartus is the master tag. I merged quartus-ii into it, and created a synonym. I also did a manual "merge" of the tag wikis, but I don't know anything about this software, so someone knowledgeable might want to check up on it and make sure it says what we want it to say.
