Dear all,

there are still 2 seats available for our upcoming online course: DNA Methylation in Ecology and Evolution.

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/dnamethylation/

Dates: 20–24 April

This course provides a practical introduction to the generation and analysis of DNA methylation data in ecology and evolution, with a focus on non-model organisms.

We will cover:

  • Short-read bisulfite sequencing (WGBS, EM-seq; Illumina)
  • Long-read approaches (Oxford Nanopore and PacBio)
  • Processing methylation data from raw reads to count matrices
  • Identification of differentially methylated sites and regions
  • Integration with SNP and gene expression data
  • Biological interpretation in ecological and evolutionary contexts

The course combines short lectures with extensive hands-on practical sessions, where participants will work directly with real datasets and analysis pipelines.

It is aimed at researchers and technical staff involved in generating or analysing DNA methylation data, particularly in non-model organisms with available reference genomes.

Best regards,
Carlo
