Browser lag on a meteor response event.

I have noticed, on the newest version of Firefox and IE, that there is
some lag when meteorserver pushes down a message to users. I don't
remember this ever happening before, but it totally glitches up the
browser if there are several messages it's trying to handle. And when
I say glitches up, I mean it locks up to the point sometimes where I
get the "Not responding" message in the title bar.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any fix for avoiding the
momentary glitch that I'm seeing?
I don't really see too big of a glitch in Chrome. There's nearly no
glitch at all in Safari.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

I've not noticed this on any of my implementations of meteor. Do you have a test case?
