0.6 question on congestion / fill percentage field

Tommi,

I'm reading up on the MXP 0.6 UDP transport draft, and I'm not sure I
understand how the buffer fill percentage field would be used or filled
out. I read the congestion avoidance section too, but still, it's not
clear to me what values would one specify there.

also, it mentions that a 'bandwidth level is selected' - what would this
mean exaclty?

Well to be honest we have to work on the congestion avoidance. We probably need something a bit more sophisticated than what is currently there. Something like TCP congestion avoidance. The buffer fill percentage would be ratio of receivers read buffer content divided by total size. In other words if receiver has problems of processing the received data then the buffer fill percentage starts to grow and when it reaches 100% then it means data is beind dropped constantly.
