The new-ish Hulu TV show Devs is a high-budget, overtly philosophical sci-fi serial whose content explicitly addresses matters of determinism, space-time, encoded universe, free will, and more. For the philosophically minded, it's a pretty good ride and I won't spoil the plot here. However, subsequent discussion might do so, so don't spoil the show for yourself if it's something you're interested in...
For those who are watching the show as it develops, I wanted to see if a discussion could be had regarding how the show is both complimentary and counter to the concepts of Kastrup-Space (a synonym I like to use when referring to the sum of Kastrup's writings). Complimentary overlaps I've noticed include the following: 1. The nature of time as both subjective and flexible. 2. The presence of a collective record of all experiences. 3. A universe that responds to the input from individual instances of consciousness (particularly in later episodes). 4. The presence of awe (in some characters) 5. The presence of a sort of universal "fabric" (in this case: code/math) which serves as a substrate for all experiences.
That said, I know that there's much in the show that doesn't cohere with Kastrup-Space. I'm hoping some of you have seen it and might provide your insight on that side of things???
Peace.
