Hi,
I was following the Metaphlan tutorial (https://bitbucket.org/biobakery/biobakery/wiki/metaphlan2) and downloaded the 6 input files with extension .fasta.gz . Then when I ran the followung command ($ metaphlan2.py SRS014476-Supragingival_plaque.fasta.gz --input_type fasta > SRS014476-Supragingival_plaque_profile.txt), I got following output-
gzip: SRS014476-Supragingival_plaque.fasta.gz: not in gzip format

However when I changed the file extension as .fasta and gave the command as
($ metaphlan2.py SRS014476-Supragingival_plaque.fasta --input_type fasta > SRS014476-Supragingival_plaque_profile.txt) Then I got two output file as desired.

Now my question is- should we download zipped fasta file (with .gz extension) and unzip it?
and why the name change has the effect on running the metaphlan2.py ?

Please change the tutorial page accordingly to remove the confusion for new users like me.

Thanks.
