Should I be indenting to the last symbol possible?

I was wondering, only since I had been going for aesthetics, at least a little bit, while following the apparent convention of indenting two and four spaces beyond, alternating, I had been wondering where to break.

I'm not sure what situation you are referring to. Can you provide an example?
