If someone could explain to me how Knuth calculated the numbers
on page 48 TAOCP vol 2, I would be grateful.

p. 43 I mean.


And the numbers are those for n = 20, n = 21 and n = 300.

What number table is it? I can see discussion of Chi-square on p. 43 but I don't see the numbers you're talking about.

What number table is it? I can see discussion of Chi-square on p. 43 but I don't see the numbers you're talking about.


I hope we are looking at the same edition. Mine is the 2nd one. The page 43 begins with the words "of V has rather
big jumps", the numbers are not in a table but in separate lines. The first one in the page starts with
"O, O, .27, .27, 1.07 ..."
