We salute you, in your capacity as the Rector of one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the world. Through you, we extend our greetings to Mexican academics and to the great people of Mexico, hoping that you are in the best of health and that you continue your distinguished journey in serving knowledge and humanity.
In recognition of your distinguished status, your esteemed university, and the vital role played by Mexican academics, translators, and intellectuals in advancing human thought, the Executive Council of the Arab Translators Association has decided to honor you by awarding you an Honorary Doctorate.
You have been selected from among hundreds of thousands of academics and university leaders within our global network. This selection reflects your outstanding academic stature and your influential leadership of a global academic institution of the magnitude of UNAM.
We hope that you take pride in this honor, which we consider a well-deserved recognition of a prominent intellectual and cultural figure with a distinguished academic legacy.
On a personal level, I am also pleased to express a special appreciation rooted in a deep human connection with the Mexican people. My first wife was an immigrant of Mexican origin, and my daughter, Imelda, currently lives in Dallas. From this perspective, this honor carries for me a personal and human dimension, in addition to its academic and cultural significance.
Kindly convey my sincere greetings to the great people of Mexico and to the academic community in your country.

A través de usted, saludamos a los académicos mexicanos y al gran pueblo de México, esperando que se encuentre en excelente salud y que continúe su distinguida trayectoria al servicio del conocimiento y la humanidad.
En reconocimiento a su destacada posición, a su prestigiosa universidad, y al importante papel que desempeñan los académicos, traductores e intelectuales mexicanos en el desarrollo del pensamiento humano, el Consejo Ejecutivo de la Asociación de Traductores Árabes ha decidido otorgarle un Doctorado Honoris Causa.
Usted ha sido seleccionado entre cientos de miles de académicos y líderes universitarios dentro de nuestra red global. Esta selección refleja su alta posición académica y su influyente liderazgo al frente de una institución académica global del tamaño de la UNAM.
Esperamos que se sienta orgulloso de este reconocimiento, que consideramos un merecido honor para una figura intelectual y cultural destacada, con una trayectoria académica distinguida.
A nivel personal, me complace expresar un reconocimiento especial basado en un vínculo humano profundo con el pueblo mexicano. Mi primera esposa era inmigrante de origen mexicano, y mi hija, Imelda, vive actualmente en Dallas. Desde esta perspectiva, este honor tiene para mí una dimensión personal y humana, además de su valor académico y cultural.

نحيّيكم، ونحيّي من خلالكم الأكاديميين المكسيكيين، والشعب المكسيكي العظيم، آملين أن تكونوا في أتمّ الصحة والعافية، وأن تواصلوا مسيرتكم القيادية في خدمة المعرفة والإنسان.
انطلاقًا من تقديرنا العميق لكم، ولجامعتكم العريقة Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México، وتقديرًا للدور الكبير الذي يضطلع به الأكاديميون والمترجمون والمثقفون المكسيكيون في خدمة الفكر الإنساني، فقد قرّر المجلس التنفيذي في جمعية المترجمين العرب تكريمكم، وذلك بمنحكم الدكتوراه الفخرية.
لقد تم اختياركم من بين مئات الآلاف من الأكاديميين ورؤساء الجامعات في شبكتنا العالمية، وهو اختيار يعكس مكانتكم العلمية الرفيعة، ودوركم المؤثر في قيادة واحدة من أكبر وأهم الجامعات في العالم.
نرجو أن تعتزوا وتفتخروا بهذا التكريم، الذي نراه تكريمًا مستحقًا لقامة علمية وثقافية بارزة، ولتاريخ أكاديمي مشرّف.
ويسرّني، على الصعيد الشخصي، أن أعبّر لكم عن تقدير خاص، نابع من علاقة إنسانية عميقة تربطني بالشعب المكسيكي، حيث إن زوجتي الأولى كانت مهاجرة من أصل مكسيكي، وكذلك ابنتي إميلدا التي تعيش حاليًا في دالاس. ومن هذا المنطلق، فإن هذا التكريم يحمل بالنسبة لي بُعدًا إنسانيًا وشخصيًا، إلى جانب بُعده العلمي والثقافي.
راجيًا منكم نقل تحياتي الصادقة إلى الشعب المكسيكي العظيم، وإلى الأسرة الأكاديمية في المكسيك.
