GGet, a Modern Download Manager for GNOME, part of Google Summer of
Code

GGet (GTK, Open Source) by Johan Svedberg is a Google Summer of Code
project under development to make a modern download manager for GNOME.
It uses Metalink Checker for the backend.

MirrorBrain presentation

The MirrorBrain, a.k.a. the openSUSE download redirector,
automatically redirects clients (web browsers, download programs) to a
mirror server near them.

openSUSE Knowledge Sharing, 2008: A talk held at the Novell/SUSE
premises in July 2008. The slides are available as PDF here, and a
video as ogg file (480 MB).

It includes some live demos, showing two metalink clients (aria2c and
DownThemAll) in action.
